Six in court after drugs raids near Crawley and Horsham

Six men were arrested after Sussex Police seized cocaine worth a quarter of a million pounds.

The men are due to appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court this morning charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Sussex Police's serious and organised crime unit swooped on the car park of the Cottesmore Golf and Country Club, Buchan Hill, Pease Pottage, near Crawley, on Friday lunchtime.

They seized cocaine worth an estimated £250,000 in one of two parked cars.

In the other car they seized cash.

The officers arrested Barry Harlow, 64, of Arlington Crescent, East Preston, near Littlehampton, Lee Burton-Asante, 43, of no fixed address, and Albert Mouhtiseb, 27, of Pampisford Road, South Croydon.

Detectives then seized equipment for cutting and distributing heroin at a unit at White Herons Farm in Forest Road, Colgate, near Horsham.

Darren Henwood, 36, of Park Road, Faygate, West Sussex, Andrew Billings, 31, of Horsgate, Horley Lane, Cuckfield, near Haywards Heath, and Charles Smith, 40, of East Bracklesham Caravan and Boat Club, near Chichester, were arrested and charged.
